Hitting The Brake To Take In The View

Tally’s mission to make people less stressed and better off financially is a marathon, not a sprint. Here's how Tally took time to celebrate how far we’ve come and recharge for the journey ahead.

Tally

July 21, 2021

Since the beginning, we’ve taken the long view. Tally’s mission to make people less stressed and better off financially is a marathon, not a sprint. We’ve often described it as a road trip, which means we need to pace ourselves and enjoy the journey. Recently we celebrated our sixth anniversary. After what has been a difficult year for many of us personally and professionally, we decided to hit the pause button and celebrate how far we’ve come.

Raising a Glass to Our Success

To kick things off, we held a virtual toast and celebration. Tally CEO Jason Brown reflected on the past year and shared how truly proud he was of the team. We raised a glass with our beverage of choice to turning the page of another incredible chapter at Tally. We share in his excitement for what’s ahead.

Afterward, we enjoyed our lunch catered by Tally (via DoorDash or Instacart) as we did some ice breakers, socialized and played a few rounds of Family Feud — a Tally favorite and tradition. The prize? Bragging rights and a “Treat Yourself” expense of your choice. Tallizens were free to spend it on something to brighten their day, whether that was a spa day or dinner out.

Taking an Extended Break to Relax and Recharge

Tally offers unlimited time off, but given how hard everyone has been working, we decided to extend the holiday to a five-day weekend. We closed our offices for the entire company between Thursday, July 1 (Canada Day) through Monday, July 5 (U.S. Independence Day) to give everyone a much-deserved opportunity to disconnect and recharge. We call these ad-hoc holidays “Tally Wellness Days.”

New Brand, New Swag

In honor of Tally’s birthday, we gifted every Tallizen with new swag to reflect our recent company rebrand: a super comfy green sweater from Marine Layer. It also came with a cool double-insulated champagne flute, beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and snack for the toast.

After that much-enjoyed break, we’re back on the road in our metaphorical journey to make full financial automation happen. Here’s to the next six years and beyond!
