Tally’s 31-day challenge has wrapped, but you can start your financial wellness journey at any time

Tally

January 31, 2022

For those of you who participated in Tally’s 31-day #FaceTheNumbers challenge in January, you did it! Thank you for joining us on a financial wellness journey to face the numbers. We hope you feel more confident and in control of your money, and that you’ll continue the good financial habits we introduced to you.

Here’s a quick recap of everything we covered each week:

Week 1: Face your debt

The first number that we ask you to face is your debt. When people say they’re afraid of looking at their finances, it’s often tied to their high-interest credit card debt. Once you’ve come to terms with the numbers, we walk through:

  • Getting organized

  • Coming up with a payback plan

  • Ways to automate your payments, with apps like Tally

Week 2: Face your spending habits

The second number that we ask you to face is your spending habits. If unchecked expenses are what got you into debt, then you may need to make lasting changes to the way you spend. This week, we breakdown the process of analyzing where your money goes and how to really assess what’s essential and non-essential.

Week 3: Face your savings

The third number that we ask you to face is your savings. Too many people rely on their credit cards as a financial safety net. We want you to break this pattern by helping you build your emergency savings fund. We walk you through ways to pay yourself first and automate your savings so that you have money when you need it.

Week 4: Face your paycheck

The fourth and final number that we ask you to face is your paycheck, or more specifically your income streams. Cutting costs can only get you so far, and if you aren’t making enough money to cover your essentials, debts and savings, then it’s time to figure out ways to boost your income. We walk you through things to consider when negotiating your salary at your current or new job, as well as ways to start a side hustle.

For those of you just learning about the challenge, you don’t need to wait for January 1 to try this out. You can start at any time. The day-by-day steps and financial wellness tips won’t change. It’s all about overcoming your fears about your financial health by facing the numbers. Everything you need to get started can be found on InstagramFacebook and at meettally.com/facethenumbers
